Abstract
This research monograph is the work of three members of the staff of the University of Otago. It provides a careful examination of two important issues : present levels of female participation in trade unions and a discussion of why these levels are low. The researchers' careful, in-depth analysis should be valuable to trade union officials and an extremely useful contribution to knowledge of women's affairs generally. This study is unique in that it is the first thorough examination of female participation in New Zealand trade unions.
