Abstract:
This project looks at two of New Zealand's major academic libraries to investigate the impact of information technology on the attitudes and job satisfaction of library staff in New Zealand academic libraries. All full time and part time staff in regular employment, who were engaged in "library" work at these 2 libraries were asked to complete a questionnaire. The questionnaire was comprised of 22 questions. Eight hypotheses were put forward, four were found to be not true. Information technology was found to have had a positive effect on the job satisfaction and attitudes of academic library staff, even though it increased workloads and stress levels.
