This projects looks at marketing and public library web pages. Marketing has long been used by business to inform the consumer and increase sales. Yet marketing in libraries is still a contentious issue. While many libraries are now applying marketing principles and techniques to library products and services, it is not clear how far these have influenced the development and creation of public library web pages. Thus the guiding question of this paper is to find out how well public libraries are marketing their web pages, both in New Zealand and overseas. |
