Abstract:
This bibliography focuses on the churches' response to homosexual law reform in New Zealand. The bibliography is limited to journal and magazine material which has a strong link to one of the mainstream churches in New Zealand - Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist and Presbyterian. The years 1984 to 1986 are covered by the bibliography, this being the period of major debate regarding homosexual law reform. This material was previously neither collected into one source nor indexed in any way. The intention has been to create a resource which will provide access to material which records both official and popular response to a highly controversial issue. It is envisaged that the bibliography will contribute significantly to the teaching of moral and practical theology and church history in New Zealand, and will provide access to material which records significant sociological development both within and outside the church.
