Abstract:
This research project investigates Humanities web evaluation tools for assessing academic-grade information hosted on public websites. It examines the basic requirements for all web evaluation tools: quality, content, and relevance. Drawing from a number of established web evaluation frameworks, this project creates its own set of criteria for web content assessment by humanist researchers and librarians investigating content with a heavy print-based body of sources. The framework is tested against an established checklist-based set of criteria on twenty sites, and its performance analysed.
