Abstract:
The research discussed within this report, was directed at investigation of the use
of the 'idea' model. Whilst this model is not a new concept, at present there is
little material presented as to its possibilities and development.
Direct model making was utilised, as being the most appropriate way of
investigating and presenting the qualities this form of model could take on.
This report is presented to support the modelled research. Set up in three
stages, the introductory essay presents the idea of the conceptual model. With
the second section of the report offering insight into the workings of the models
produced - as to the formative ideas behind their design and how they
progressed. Finally, an essay derived from observations made during this
process, addressing the possibilities and direction these models offer. This essay
presents the idea of how the models can take on a generative role through
heightened levels of abstraction.
