Abstract:
Observations have been made on cosmic ray extensive air showers at Victoria University of Wellington, using a cloud chamber in conjunction with an extensive air shower detecting array. It has been found that the number of photographs obtained showing three or more reasonably parallel particle tracks is a very small percentage of the total number of photographs taken, and thus any directional observations on such showers were practically impossible. A complete summary of the methods used in determining the directional distribution of air showers is presented, together with a discussion on the relative merits of each type of observation.
