Abstract:
This research report sought to determine the viability of a professional perspective rendering career within the Wellington district. This required research into the purposes and functions of the rendered perspective, its comparative advantages and limitations, the minimum market standard and the market demand for this presentation form.
The purpose of graphic representation within the architectural profession is to communicate design concepts. Historically, much development has taken place in representational techniques and media which are all available to the representer today.
The Perspective representation has developed as being most acceptable to the lay audience, in that it can be used most flexibly to communicate something beyond the bare physical details of a construction and allows the underlying design concept to become apparent.
The ultimate sophistication is achieved through Rendered Perspective presentation.
The Wellington architectural profession has developed strong concepts of standard and ethics in its, now, widespread use of the rendered perspective presentation form. There is a shortage of skills evidenced by the profession in the Wellington area and consequently, both internal and external renderers are in demand.
