Abstract:
A survey of the work done on the rate of the additive reactions of halogens to ethylene compounds shows that some of the factors have been investigated more thoroughly than others, while an exhaustive study has not been attempted. Many special reactions have been studied in a similar unsystematic manner so that in reviewing the history of the subject it has been thought advisable to group together the various observations on a particular factor rather than give a consecutive account of the researches of particular workers.
