Abstract:
Intervention can occur outside of the the Gallery walls. This report will show that the architectural installations created by architects not only have a profound affect on the viewing public, but more importantly, on the architect's themselves. The affects of the installations are then translated to the buildings produced by the architect.
The report looks at how the emergence and acceptance of architectural installations into architectural discourse has allowed an extension of knowledge and hence architectural installations have become part of that intermediary step translating concept into building, either directly or indirectly. In this way, they have become prophetic in nature, forging new directions for 'architecture' to follow.
