Investigations of the Raman spectra of some halide compounds

Abstract

The object of this thesis was to discuss experimental requirements and procedures for obtaining Raman Spectra of suitable resolution for investigations of vibrational and torsional motions in solids. A brief historical and theoretical background to the Raman effect has been added in order to act as a building block and a general reference for any one wishing to do further work in this subject.
