Abstract:
The ILO is the only universal inter-governmental organisation specifically dealing with both economic and social conditions. The original constitution of the organisation formed part XIII of the Treaty of Versailles of June 28, 1919, part XIII of the Treaty of St. Germain of September 10, 1919, and part XIII of the Treaty of Trianon of June 4 1920, and part XII of the Treaty of Neuilly of November 27, 1919. The Constitution established the ILO as an official inter-governmental agency which associated with the League of Nations.
This Constitution was agreed by member states under the common feeling that:-
a. Universal and lasting peace can be established only if it is based upon social justice.
b. An improvement of the conditions of injustice and hardship is urgently required. It also needs the recognition of the principle of equal remuneration for work of equal value, and recognition of the principle of freedom of association.
