dc.description.abstract (a) Location: The Trio or Te Kuku Islands are three small uninhabited islands, situated 3½ miles east of D'Urville Island in the Western Marlborough Sounds region, Cook Strait, (fig. 1). They lie at longitude 174°, and latitude 40° 50', which indicates that in relation to the rest of New Zealand, they are at an equivalent longitude to Mt Egmont, and an equivalent latitude to Kapiti Island, or to Masterton. en_NZ
