Abstract
(a) Location:
The Trio or Te Kuku Islands are three small uninhabited islands, situated 3½ miles east of D'Urville Island in the Western Marlborough Sounds region, Cook Strait, (fig. 1).
They lie at longitude 174°, and latitude 40° 50', which indicates that in relation to the rest of New Zealand, they are at an equivalent longitude to Mt Egmont, and an equivalent latitude to Kapiti Island, or to Masterton.
