Mainstream architecture has unconsciously drawn from the vernacular from the 'Age of Pericles' to the 'New Architecture' of the 20th century. I have taken the 'woolshed' as an example of the vernacular that is particular to this part of the world. My methodology included extensive field work, visiting woolsheds up and down the country. I mapped the development of the woolshed and explored the influence the woolshed, and the ideas behind it, have had on mainstream architecture.pdfen-NZhttps://www.wgtn.ac.nz/library/about-us/policies-and-strategies/copyright-for-the-researcharchiveNew Zealand farm buildingsFarm buildingsDesign and constructionNew Zealand vernacular: the woolshedTextAll rights, except those explicitly waived, are held by the Author
