Infrared spectra, electronic spectra, magnetic data and some X-ray diffraction patterns are reported. Properties of oxalate and acetate derivatives of nickel (II) compounds indicate that these compounds are cis octahedral with the oxalate and acetate acting as a chelate and with the macrocycle in folded coordination - the donor nitrogen atoms occupying four adjacent coordination points. Most derivatives of cobalt(III) have trans disubstituted structures with the macrocycle planar, but a diamino-ethane derivative was prepared with the macrocycle folded. Also discussed are possible isomeric forms of the macrocyclic ligands due to restricted inversion about asymmetric secondary amino groups.pdfen-NZTetraazacyclotridecanesMetal ionsChemistryMetal ion complexes of some substituted tetraazacyclotridecanesText
