She has written over 600 beginner readers which have helped children around the world to enjoy learning to read. Highly regarded in the United States but somewhat overlooked in New Zealand, the depth of her work as revealed in the compilation of this bibliography, should help remedy this situation. An attempt has been made to record all her work for children and for adults, to date. The main body of the bibliography is arranged under literary genre followed by a section annotating articles on her life and work, arranged by author. The appendixes provide lists of beginner readers, items from the School journal, associated web sites, works that could not be obtained for the purposes of annotation and works to be published in 2000. Title, illustrator and author indexes provide access to the annotations.pdfen-NZJoy Cowleychildren's literatureNew Zealandauthorswomen authorspicture booksreadersfictionBibliography of works by and about Joy CowleyText
