In that time they published some of the most significant and enduring works published in New Zealand. While the pioneers of printing in early Wellington have been given reasonable coverage by researchers, Lyon & Blair has not. The firm, with direct links to the pioneers, more properly belonged to the second phase of New Zealand's early history, a period of consolidation.
