Getting your IT sorted is essential for study. You can contact Digitial Solutions for help logging in to the University's systems and for basic laptop issues.
As a student, you have access to a number of programs and apps, including Microsoft Office, for free. Check out the software page for more details. High demand books can be found on the 2hr - Course Reserve shelf. These books are loanable for 2 hours and cannot be taken from the library.
Vic Books sells course textbooks and course notes and it is recommended that you buy any texts assigned by your lecturer. The library will do its best to provide copies of course text books.
If you are experiencing financial hardship you can apply to the University's hardship fund. Printing can be done from any university computer as well from personal laptops and mobile devices.
You can also scan to an email address from these machines
Printing costs:
• black and white - 10 cents per page
• colour - 20 cents per page
• scanning to email - no charge
You can add money to your printing account on the university computers, your personal devices, or by talking to library staff.
Self-checkout machines allow you to easily loan or return a library book.
Much of the library's collection can now be found online. However, the library has an extensive print collection which is particularly important for subjects like Architecture & Design.
Talk to a friendly library staff member if you have any issues or cannot find the book you are looking for.

This special collection of miniature chairs are to scale models made from the same materials as the originals.
Closer viewings can be arranged and more information can be found at here. The library's info desk is staffed:
Mon to Fri - 8am to 8pm
Sat to Sun - 10am to 3pm
Library staff can help with library related questions, printing issues, directional queries, and can direct you to the correct University team for any other enquiries.
If you require more specialised help, then you can always contact your Subject Librarian. These group study rooms can be booked via the library website using your @myvuw.ac.nz email address.
Group study rooms can be useful if you enjoy studying with a group or prefer having a more private study space in the library. They can also be a good idea during busy periods, as you will not need to fight for a seat!
Though most library resources are online, there are still plenty of physical books in the collection.
Physcial books are organised by subject matter making it easy to find multiple books on a similar subject.
For help finding a book on the shelf, talk to a library staff member.

Welcome to our virtual tour of the Architecture & Design Library at the Te Aro Campus.
The Architecture & Design Library is part of Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington’s Te Aro Campus, which supports teaching and research for the Architecture & Design Faculty.
The Te Aro campus provides a full range of student support services. The campus sits in the heart of the city (just off of Cuba Street) providing easy access to innumerable coffee and food places. A bus line connects Te Aro to the Kelburn campus, meaning students can easily move between the two.
The Architecture & Design library occupies part of the ground floor. This tour will explore the library space, the support services and other interesting aspects of the library!
