Abstract
New Zealand has experienced a large influx of immigrants over the last twenty years. They have come to New Zealand with a wide range of skills in speaking and understanding English. To date there appears to be no knowledge about their information needs or their information seeking behaviour. Pendleton and Chatman (1998) maintain that people of a given community who share the same culture tend to seek information from within that community.
