Abstract
The energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence technique was employed as an analytical tool for trace elements analysis. In this thesis, the trace elements of interest were calibrated by recourse to a calibration curve which was drawn by prepared thin standards. A method of preparing the thin standards by the Multi-drop Technique incorporated with the Microtol syringe was developed. Environmental air samples had been collected for both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The Copper concentration in the air samples were determined by the calibration curve which demonstrated the potential application of X-ray fluorescence analysis in Environmental controls.
