Pedestrian areas

Abstract

The purpose of this research report is to analyse existing pedestrian areas to formulate objectives to be used in the design of a converted street in Kilbirnie, Wellington. Existing written material is reviewed and existing pedestrian areas in New Zealand visited as the basis of the objectives. A case study of the conversion of a street to a pedestrian area is undertaken and then evaluated against the objectives as stated.
