This report explores the development of an architectural expression for recreational facilities, and follows the evolution of the building type. A series of architectural generations has been defined, based on Taylor's 'leisure model', in which he sets out the changing social issues of recreation. The subject is covered from both international and local points of view, to place existing and future facilities within a Wellington context.en_NZ
