Abstract
This is a study of New Zealand political campaign tactics, together with some comparisons to American electoral methods.
For the most part, this will be a study of the election of November 13, 1954, although in a few cases campaign methods in previous years will be mentioned. This thesis is not concerned with the content of the campaign, nor is it chiefly concerned with an analysis of the confusing result of the election (although this will be discussed in passing) -- it is mainly a study of the manner in which the political parties wooed the voters.
