Z39 50 : its development and potential for New Zealand libraries

Abstract

To improve awareness of the standard among New Zealand librarians this paper will trace the development of the standard, explain how it works, describe some implementation models. It will then investigate how Z39.50 could be applied to improve resource sharing opportunities in New Zealand libraries.
