dc.description.abstract | Covid-19 and the resulting nationwide lockdown of 2020 has had a considerable impact on the lives of New Zealanders. This study investigates the impact the pandemic has had on the demand central Christchurch residents have for services at Tūranga, the city’s main library which is located in Cathedral Square. A survey attracted 103 respondents who live in the inner city and the results suggest changes in demand from inner-city residents. These results are discussed under the lens of motivation theory with written comments from the respondents used to shed further light on their quantitatively-expressed preferences. Proposed responses to the results include adjusting the marketing of community events and the use of motivation theory concepts and practice when assisting unemployed customers at Tūranga. | en_NZ |
