Developing concerns in personnel management: a consultation with Professor George F. Thomason, 11 August, 1982, held at James Cook Hotel, Wellington

Abstract

The consultation reported in these proceedings was a joint venture of Massey University at Palmerston North and Victoria University of Wellington in co-operation with the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Personnel Management. The object of the consultation was to explore themes of concern to practising personnel managers in New Zealand. This was achieved by a comparative approach. The address of the overseas consultant was complemented by comments from local practitioners and academics. Then a dialogue was developed between the consultant, commentators and persons attending the consultation. To ensure full and frank discussion Chatham House Rules applied during the dialogue. Consequently, questions and comments from.the floor were recorded (and are included in these proceedings).
