This report is an exploration of the use of water inside architecture, and its ability to enhance and enrich that architecture and the lives of the people that live with it. Were there some basic rules as to its general use, and could water be successfully used in a temperate climate such as New Zealand's? Some internationally recognized domestic architecture and local domestic architecture was studied and evaluated architecturally, and the local examples were also evaluated environmentally to determine their success in a temperate climate. It was found that some basic rules can be applied, and that water has a successful place inside the body of New Zealand architecture.en_NZ
