Abstract
The Samoans in New Zealand are one of the largest minority groups in the country and has the biggest Pacific Island population according to the 1996 Census. However, it is surprisingly sad that bibliographic coverage on this literature is lacking due to the absence of specific bibliographies on the Samoan community. This project marks a new chapter, by providing an annotated bibliography based on all the major published sources of materials available on the topic. The materials are selected however, due to the time constraints of the project as well as the magnitude of materials available. Hence the purpose of this bibliography is to document references to the most important and recent items such as books, monographs, journals and reports from the 1970s to date. A special emphasis was placed on the selection of relevant university thesis, as well as a few primary sources. All the items have a substantial amount of information about the New Zealand-Samoan people, their social conditions, politics, education and contribution to national life here in Aotearoa.
