Abstract
This thesis is the theoretical development of a new view or meta paradigm of organisational forms. This view is established by re conceptualising organisations through a nursing perspective of people, health and development and the use of the person in the practice of praxis. This meta paradigm highlights the central concern of the reciprocal nature of people and organisations. It provides reference points to guide the practice of the growth, development and healing of organisations to achieve success in their purpose.
The thesis uses the narrative voice to describe the reflective basis for the establishment for this theoretical framework. The underlying propositions of the meta paradigm are explained. The meta paradigm is described in detail and examples of its application are given. The implications for nursing in the caring and healing of social organisational forms is highlighted. The implications for management of having a meta paradigm are also highlighted.
