Architecture and weather have traditionally been seen as separate; architecture acting as a mediator to reduce the effects of weather on the human body. Contemporary architectural thinking, however, challenges this presumption through a shift towards an interactive co-existence between natural and artificial dynamics. This research blurs the distinction between weather and architecture by exploring design strategies for ambiguous space through the parameters of weather. It speculates the possibilities for architecture and weather to be inextricably linked and through this suggests an alternative way of thinking about how the effects of time may be endured within a 500 year period. What results is an ambiguous hybridized condition that is informed by an exchange of effects and provides an alternate way of thinking about how space is occupied.en_NZ
