Abstract
This report investigates the architectural issues involved in airport terminal facility designs. It identifies basic design considerations associated with the terminal building and how they affect its design.
There are five main sections to this report. The first is a brief introduction and history on the airport terminal. This is followed by investigating the airport and explaining the association and implication of the terminal with other areas within the airport. Then the terminal configuration and what impact the form has on the design is focussed on. The terminals accommodation areas, and movement within these areas is explained in the fourth chapter. The aesthetics and the architectural role of the terminal is the last issue examined.
The issues identified in these initial chapters are then used as a basis for analysis of selected airports from around the world.
