Abstract
Illustrated within is the deconstruction of scenography as a purely visual representation, which brings it into the realm of architecture. Scenography is explored as the relationship between space, time, object, subject, action and ideas.
Spatial scenographic concepts are explored from without and from within theatrical discourse. Concepts explored in scenography are similarly explored in real space and real time, in architecture.
The writing and works of Aldo Rossi, architect, are used as an origin and framework for this discussion between the discourses of architecture and theatre. Rossi's work illustrates: Architecture as theatre: Theatre as architecture
