An analysis of ethnic prejudice

Abstract

This thesis will be specifically concerned with the relationship between personality factors and ethnic prejudice. The review of previous research on ethnic prejudice will be confined to studies which are relevant to measurement techniques and personality characteristics. As comprehensive reviews of these areas are available elsewhere (Allport, 1958; Edwards, 1957; Fishbein, 1967) only studies of direct relevance to this investigation will be reviewed. Also, as this study was conducted in New Zealand, a brief review of investigations of ethnic prejudice in New Zealand will be given.
