Abstract
The current version of BECAL has been developed for the purposes of in-house testing and further development, and is not yet aimed at users outside the Works and Services Development Corporation.
However, in this report BECAL 1.16 is evaluated as if it were intended for general release to suitably experienced architectural practitioners. This approach was adopted as a vehicle through which the aims listed below might be achieved:
- To analyse and provide feedback on the functions and operation of BECAL.
- To suggest directions for future research and development of BECAL, or a similar life costing package.
- To extend and consolidate what the author had already learned about life costing theory and practice while involved in the development of BECAL.
