With the conclusion of the Second World War, extremist politics of the far right wing suffered quick decline. However, the recent re-emergence of far right-wing politics indicates that it lay only dormant rather than dead when the War was over. The post-war spread and successes of international Communism are generally given large credit in accounting for the re-emergence of the far right-wing in the United States of America. for example, Bell, D. (editor), The Radical Right, Garden City: Doubleday Anchor Books, 1963. However, the ascendancy of the far right-wing has not been limited to such American movements and groups as the McCarthyites, the John Birch Society, and the late Rockwell's National Socialists. The recently very successful National Democratic Party in West Germany, The National Democratic party, although only two years old, won eight seats in the State of Hesse (The Sunday Times, November 13, 1966, page 5) and fifteen seats in the State of Bavaria (The Dominion, November 21, 1966, page 1). the Poujadists in France, Mosley's National Socialists in Great Britain, and similar movements of the far right in other countries, are other manifestations of the phenomenon.en_NZ
