Abstract
"The Cook Islands are an integral part of New Zealand and the inhabitants are closely bound to this country by common ancestry with the Maori people of New Zealand. The isles of the Pacific are no longer separate from the world and the main problem of the Cook Island Maori, as was that of their kinsfolk in New Zealand, is to adjust and integrate their conditions with the modern civilization which has now encompassed them. I am sure that they will show as much success in doing this as the Maoris of New Zealand." (1)
