dc.description.abstract This thesis presents the technical challenges that were faced while building a lightweight, scalable, global news paywall system. It also presents the common events while establishing a start-up company and also its unique events while building the start-up, Ripple Media Ltd. The project was based on a research within the Victoria University’s School of Information Management, “Digital Commons or Digital Enclosures: The Future of Online Content Distribution.” The project focuses on providing a platform that would solve the problems of online distribution and monetisation strategies. Ripple Media Ltd has conducted a market research that would give insights on news monetisation and building a product / platform addressing the online content distribution. en_NZ
