dc.description.abstract This thesis rejects the rigidity of traditional lighting systems and through the qualities of LED technology (colour variation, lightness of weight, durability, low voltage and energy efficiency). It explores notions of how LED technology can humanize the office through biophilic principles, to create a healthy, collaborative and interactive office environment. This research focuses on the theory of biophilia and how this can be implemented to create a highly interactive and collaborative workspace. Utilizing the qualities of LED technology and biophilia, it sets out to design and develop a radical way to light the office that is compatible and complimentary to developing an agile office space. en_NZ
