dc.description.abstract |
Over 160 New Zealand women were commissioned to work in China between 1891 and 1954. Some were married, some were mothers; some used their singleness to remain steadfast servers for fifty years, others were killed or died of illness within a matter of a few years. This bibliography seeks to join in their journey and celebrate their sacrifice, the children of New Zealand's pioneers who became the mouthpiece for a new generation. |
