dc.description.abstract A selective, annotated bibliography of works that retell the myths and legends of the Maori. Arranged chronologically, the bibliography is intended to facilitate an analysis of how the myths and legends are presented over time and whether pervading social attitudes towards Maori culture are reflected in the retelling of these stories. Primarily intended for undergraduate students of Maori studies, sociology, New Zealand history or literature. Social historians at any level may also find the bibliography useful. en_NZ
