dc.description.abstract At the 2001 census there were over 60,000 Indians resident in New Zealand, making them one of the largest ethnic groups and yet they are also one of the least studied groups. This tertiary resource is one step towards rectifying this deficiency by addressing the gap in bibliographic coverage of the Indian Diaspora. By arranging a selection of available material by subject, this bibliography facilitates access and searchability for researchers. Including keywords for each annotation and cross referencing in the subject index contributes to the process. This compensates for the subjectivity of category selection for some entries which could fit under one or more subject headings. As this bibliography is intended primarily for academic researchers, the majority of citations are for monographs, journal articles and conference proceedings. Some newspaper and magazine articles are included to provide context or fill gaps in coverage. en_NZ
