Selective annotated bibliography on personal accounts of life on Waiheke Island, 1900-2000

Abstract

This is a bibliography focusing on personal accounts of life on Waiheke Island written either by residents or by people visiting the island. It includes accounts taken from published primary and secondary sources. The years 1900 to the present day is the core period covered by the bibliography, this being the timeframe that is not included in the two major histories of the island. The material included in the bibliography had not been collected into one source or indexed in any way. The intention was to create a resource that would provide access to material of interest to researchers of family history, students and recreational users, among others, with an interest in Waiheke history.
