Aspects of Nelson City history: an annotated bibliography

Abstract

Nelson City has a wealth of information written about its history. However, finding this information can be a long and labour-intensive task. The following bibliography has aimed to reduce this arduous process by collecting all possible book titles that cover the history of Nelson City. The books are presented in the following order. They are first collected under headings starting from general books such as provincial histories and city histories, to more specific subjects, which are presented in alphabetical order. Every subject (except 'Provincial History') is divided into subheadings and displayed in alphabetical order, with general titles listed first. The annotations are descriptive, with 'Chicago A' used as the citation style, and are listed in chronological order within each subheading, from the earliest to the most recent. The annotations say whether a title is listed in the Nelson Public Library catalogue or not- those that are not state where the title was found for the purposes of the bibliography. The index provides name/title access, with subject and proper name access provided through the contents.
