dc.description.abstract From 1868 up to the 1911 election twenty-eight Maori Members of Parliament (MPs) were elected into the four Maori seats of Northern, Western, Eastern and Southern Maori. Today, only a handful can be regarded as 'household names' in New Zealand. This annotated bibliography lists known works containing biographical information on the twenty-eight Maori MPs and attempts to describe and evaluate their content. It is intended that the bibliography will help fill the gap in bibliographical coverage of biographical material on these influential historical figures. en_NZ
