dc.description.abstract The demand for consumer health information continues to increase as many people choose to play an active role in terms of health decisions. With greater exposure to medical literature and databases such as Medline, the public now require access to material often beyond the scope of public library collections (Hollander 2000). This research was an investigation into the role of academic health sciences libraries in the provision of health information to the public. en_NZ
