dc.description.abstract Len Lye has enjoyed a steadily rising profile in New Zealand since his death in 1980. He is now considered by many people to be one of New Zealand's foremost artists. The promotion of Len Lye into the canon of great New Zealand artists has not been without controversy however. It is the primary intention of this bibliography to provide a guide for people looking at the impact that Len Lye has had on New Zealand, by listing material that expresses New Zealanders' responses to the artist. The secondary intention of this bibliography is to investigate the main themes of this response. The items in this bibliography have been arranged into seven different categories depending upon who is expressing a response to Len Lye. These categories are: academics, artists, critics, curators, institutions, politicians and the public. In addition, thirteen different themes have been identified within these responses, and each item has been given a number of subject keyword terms to identify which of the themes is a feature of that item. en_NZ
