dc.description.abstract The reasons for concern about digital technology that are expressed by these and other authors are many, but can be grouped into one of the following two main categories: Technical Problems Intellectual and Organizational Concerns The purpose of this research project is two-fold: (1) to identify and examine these concerns in detail; and (2) to outline, critically discuss, and assess the solutions or strategies that have been devised or suggested for dealing with them. This, it is hoped, will provide a comprehensive view and understanding of the issues and challenges that surround digital preservation in the library and archives environments at the present time. en_NZ
