dc.description.abstract The initial interest the topic was drawn from an observation that the literature was both elusive and uncollated. The research statement was to test the extent to which British film noir and neo-noir is documented in the literature, the major discourses represented, and the principal contributors to the topic. The findings to be compiled 2. The increasing acknowledgement that British film noir exists. 3. That British film noir is a legitimate area for study and research. 4. That such a bibliography would assist those engaged in both academic and non-academic investigation into the topic. 5. That the bibliography provides support to the currently available literature on British film, particularly national cinema. en_NZ
