dc.description.abstract This paper examines the principles in adult guardianship law in New Zealand. It analyses the several principles which can be found in the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988. In addition, their application in the case law is discussed as well. Furthermore, the paper examines the German custodianship law to draw a comparison and to give recommendations to update the New Zealand adult guardianship law. en_NZ
